تعود القصه إلى سنه 1864م في قرية Mystic Falls المشهوره منذ القدم بقصص مصاصي الدماء , حيث وقع الأخوان سلفاتور في غرام مصاصة الدماء كاثرين والتي قامت باستغلالهما اشد الاستغلال للحصول على الدم البشري ومع الايام , يبدأ صراع الحب بين الاخوان ويتحول إلى مذبحه حين يحاولان الدفاع عنها بعد عملية اصطياد مصاصي الدماء في القريه فتحولهما إلى مصاصي دماء .. ليلوم كل منهما الآخر على فشلهما في محاولة حمايتها .
